How do I get my images to appear on the FlickR Livestream page?

To get your image to appear on the Flickr Livestream page, you simply need to tag your photos with the tag “galaguru”. It may take a few hours for the server to recognize and show the pictures however so please check back often.

What other FlickR options are there?

Well we have set up a group called the “Guru Gala” on FlickR to aggregate everyone’s pictures from the event. We will have 2 on-staff photographers taking pictures throughout the night, and we encourage others to do the same. We would love to see your pictures of you enjoying the night! The Gala Guru can be found @ http://www.flickr.com/groups/galaguru/.

What if I find out too late, forget to RSVP, or get abducted by aliens? Can I just show up?

Well, yeah! We just want to know who and how many people are coming so we know how much food and drink to have! …and feel free to bring the aliens.

What is the Twestival?

Twestival is a fun way to meet other local Twitter users face-to-face in support of an amazing organization. We will be collecting donations at the Gala Guru in support of Concern Worldwide. Hundreds of cities around the world, including Edmonton, will be hosting local events to create awareness for the important cause of education. All funds raised will go to Concern Worldwide, an organization that provides education for the world’s poorest children. Founded in 1968, Concern’s current education programs reach over 700,000 people in 25 countries.

This theme business, does that mean I have to dress up?

Only if the spirit moves you. The theme is to set the tone so people know what to expect! Last year was a mix of Mediterranean influences. This year is rockabilly. But it is always eclectic!

What if we get lost on the way to the venue?

We will be forwarding our phones to our receptionest the night of the event, so please call 780.429.4878 and we will try out best to direct you there!
